Privacy Policy
Last updated: 1 November 2026
This policy explains what the OmniCord app and the omnicord.app website collect, why, and what your rights are.
What the OmniCord app stores
Your username, email address, optional phone number, display name, pronouns and about-me text, a salted scrypt hash of your password (never the password itself), your two-factor secret if you turn it on, your servers, roles, friends and blocks, the messages you send, your reactions and pins, the files you upload (including your profile picture) and when you accepted our terms. Online status, voice and screen sharing pass through the server in real time and are not recorded.
Why
To run your account and deliver messages, files and calls (performance of a contract), and to keep the service secure, for example rate limiting and blocking brute-force attempts (legitimate interest). We do not sell personal data.
Advertising and cookies
The website and the optional "watch an ad for Omni+" feature show ads served by Google AdSense. Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on a user's prior visits to this website or other websites. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to this site and/or other sites on the Internet. You may opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings, and learn more at How Google uses information from sites that use its services. Where required, you will be asked for consent before personalised ads are shown. Ads are only shown when you choose to watch one; the OmniCord app itself does not track you.
GIFs
GIF search is provided by KLIPY. Searches and GIFs are fetched by our server, so your device does not connect to KLIPY directly.
Security
All traffic is encrypted with TLS. Sign-in tokens are stored on your PC encrypted with Windows DPAPI.
Retention
We keep your data while your account exists. When you delete your account we delete your profile, sessions, friends list, direct message conversations, every message you sent and every file you uploaded.
Your rights (GDPR)
You can access and download your data, correct it, delete it, object to processing, and complain to your data protection authority (in Czechia: the Office for Personal Data Protection, uoou.gov.cz). Most of this can be done in the app under Settings > Privacy & data.
